"I hope everyone that is reading this is having a really good day. And if you are not, just know that in every new minute that passes you have an opportunity to change that."

Such an inspiring quote T_T. But anyways, my name is Gilbert Tran, and welcome to my e-portfolio homepage. At the top right you will see all the pages of this website that will navigate you to my best work of each subject listed. This obviously includes Science, Core, Math, Elective (Engineering), and Tech Tools Learned. As an AdVENTURE student, these are the essential subjects that we must learn and work with everyday.

Alright, so I am an AdVENTURE student in the AdVENTURE STEM program. What might that be like? What does it mean? What is it? I'll tell you. It's different than the average classroom. In fact, AdVENTURE differs greatly from other common middle schools. The AdVENTURE STEM program is a program that involves many different important components of learning which includes use of computers, science, engineering, and math.  The daily classes of AdVENTURE are extremely exciting because it allows you to work with your peers, toward a single goal of either completing a project, building a certain model (hands-on!), direct science experiments, or even computer use to create breathtaking learning games!

I think being part of this "adventurous" program means we work harder than others and we strive for positivity and collaboration in all that we do. This means we help our teammates and learn to communicate and use teamwork to accomplish certain goals. For example, my class was assigned a project in which we have to build a dome structure. I chose my team members and together, we each gave each other roles in the project, got our materials, and contributed our ideas into the model, resulting in all of us getting the maximum amount of points. Throughout the year, we are repetitively given these sort of projects, constantly forcing us to be a good teammate, and a good collaborator.

Part of being an AdVENTURE student also involves receiving an exciting and lively learning experience, instead of the regular workload expected in other schools. Our program does not have plain worksheets or handouts that generate an absolutely boring learning environment. But instead, we have projects, class meetings, as well as whole-class activities that involves working with others, using past knowledge, and dexterity which forces students to apply all their knowledge and critical thinking as well as cooperation to get a good grade. I think because of this, our program yields extreme benefits and advantages in which other schools do not possess.

To sum it up, the AdVENTURE program and being part of it as a student means a lot. It contains valuable learning experiences that regular educational institutions do not routine. Experimenting, communicating, use of technology, positivity, and teamwork is the general mentality of this program. And because of the latter, students coming out of AdVENTURE are well-prepared and ready in the face of future challenges like going to college, or getting a job, overall boosting their chances their success in life.
