Elective: Engineering

Engineering is a class involving a lot of planning, calculating, building, and a hint of creativity. All this includes teamwork, cooperation, and communication, some of the most important core values of an AdVENTURE student. And this is why for this subject, I'll have to choose my most successful building, the dome.

"Domes are actually pretty important. After all, we do live on two pieces of it."

So we watched an hour long documentary before starting, just to get and idea of what to do, and to get some inspiration. My teammates and I planned and agreed on a design, decided what materials we needed, and did the actual building. We all brought materials and assigned roles, who was the builder, the person that came up with ideas, and the person that did a little bit of both. When we finished building, we analyzed and compared our dome to the requirements needed, in which case, we needed to add something a little better. So we attached a removable roof, which worked fine. Overall, the success of this project was dependent upon each one of the group members' contribution. Without one, the other two's options would become limited. This project also showed that the AdVENTURE core values do lead to success and accomplishment. But either way, I had a great time with my friends and will use this as an example in the future to prove to me or to others, that teamwork, believe it or not, really does work. :D
